THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN IS MANDATED TO COORDINATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABLE POLICIES AND PROGRAMMES TO ENSURE THE PROMOTION, PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN IN LINE WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AGENDA OF THE NATION, RELEVANT LEGISLATION, CONVENTIONS, TREATIES AND INTERNATIONAL PROTOCOLS.

THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN (DOC) EXISTS TO ENSURE THE PROTECTION, PROMOTION, PARTICIPATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN IN GHANA THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RESPONSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE CHILD-RELATED POLICIES, PROGRAMMES AND STANDARDS IN COLLABORATION WITH RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS IN A WELL–RESOURCED ENVIRONMENT WITH MOTIVATED STAFF

3 DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT MECHANISMS AND SCHEMES TO FACILITATE THE COMPLIANCE WITH CONVENTIONS, TREATIES AND INTERNATIONAL PROTOCOLS, RELATING TO CHILDREN
- PROMOTE EVIDENCE BASED DECISION MAKING
- PROMOTE NATIONAL AGENDA FOR THE RECOGNITION OF CHILD RIGHTS
